NORMAL PEOPLE DOING EXTRAORDINARY THINGS
WE ARE ALCESTER & STRATFORD DISTRICT ROUND TABLE
Founded in 1961 as a business networking group for young professionals we’ve adapted over the years to become a social club with a conscience.
Fundraising to help our local community whilst making good friends and having fun with activities.
ADOPT, ADAPT, IMPROVE
OUR HISTORY
It started with one man’s bold vision. In 1927, Louis Marchesi saw a gap – young professionals with energy, ambition, but nowhere to channel it. So he created Round Table in Norwich with a simple but powerful motto: ‘Adopt, Adapt, Improve.’
This isn’t just a motto – it’s how we get things done:
Adopt: See something that works? Take it and use it. No need to reinvent the wheel when there’s already a solution out there.
Adapt: But don’t just copy blindly. Tweak it, adjust it, make it fit your situation. What works for one Table might not be applicable for another Table.
Improve: Never settle. Once you’ve adopted and adapted, push it further. Make it better than it was before.
It’s the perfect mindset for young professionals who want to make real change happen – practical, flexible, and always moving forward.
There are now over 1,000 clubs across the country and internationally. Alcester Round Table (now Alcester & Stratford District Round Table) was formed in 1961, and we’ve been making our mark ever since. If you are aged 18-45 and are ready to be a part of something bigger, make friends and really get involved in your community contact us to discuss.
